There are two ways of making it past the Grexes this early in the same.
This will let you run right past the Grexes to pick up Conner’s comm gadget.
The Grexes tend to remain stationary, only looking ahead of them if you approach from the front.
They can still see you, but their cone of vision is slightly reduced.
Once you’ve picked up the Comm rig, head on back to return it to him.
