InThe Witcher 3, Geralt fights against all sorts of powerful creatures.
However, he faces perhaps his toughest foe during the Paperchase quest when he goes up against banking bureaucracy.
The walkthrough also covers the consequences of the quest ending choice.
Starting The Quest
To begin the quest, you need tospeak with the Vineyard Owner in Beauclair.
The man is standing behind Trentin’s Workshop.
So, he left Geralt’s money in a savings account atCianfanelli Bank.
When you first head inside, speak with thebank clerk right in front of you.
Thankfully, this can be fixed withPermit A38.
Tracking down that permit requires a lot of going back and forth.
The first objective is tohead to window one, which is to the right of the main entrance.
The clerk there reveals that you requireForm 202to get Permit A38.
And to make things even more annoying, you oughta go back to window onefor this new document.
Release all your pent-up frustration on this poor soul.
After the fight, head back to window one, where you will find… nobody.
Go to themiddle windowand hit the talk prompt.
A cutscene triggers, in which Geralt witnesses the bank clerks talking to one another while on break.
One of them orders Geralt to wait.
Nowsit on the bench next to the door.
The Woman At Window One
The man beside you asks if you want to play Gwent.
It’s not required, but you’re free to accept if you want.
So you totally should.
Afterward, he gives you some advice about dealing with the woman at window one.
Another option is to just rely on Geralt’s charm to get the job done.
When she returns, speak with the clerk at window one about Form 202.
She reveals that she can’t give you the document because the records say you’re dead.
In response, eithergive her a gift or flirt with her.She then asks Master Cianfanelli to help you.
He also stresses the importance of the documents… Until you show him Anna Henrietta’s summon letter.
At this point, the forms are no longer required.
You havethe option of forcibly taking money right now or giving him a week to repay you.
If you want the coin straight away, you need tobeat up Cianfanelli’s two guards.
Headupstairs to find Cianfanelli, who gives you200 crownsand bans you from his bank.
Alternatively, if you lose the brawl, you get embarrassingly ejected from the building.
But you still receivethe 200 crowns.
Either way, the quest comes to a close when you get your money.
Give Him A Week (“Got A Week.")
There’s no fight if you give Cianfanelli a week to pay you back.
Instead, you’re freely allowed to leave the bank.
The weapon isn’t one ofthe best in the game, but it’s not bad.
The quest thus ends on far more amicable - and lucrative - terms.
