The developers themselves view magic partly as a plot gear or something convenient to the story.
Moreover, they don’t have the luxury of explaining it, unlike in the books.
That has probably left players with burning questions about magic the game has yet to address or fully elucidate.

It’s never fully detailed how sorceresses, wizards, or druids draw their magic powers from.
The show, for example, chalks it up as chaotic energy with a biological price.

As Geralt, you’re probably sick and tired of portals by now.
He has a phobia for them.
Still, it’s a bit obtuse of Geralt to not consider the strategic benefits of portals.
It practically eliminates the need for transportation or travel in the hands of an accomplished magic-user.
This can be anything from making instant supply lines to assassinating kings with ease.

Ciri not havingwitcher mutationsis understandable since she didn’t undergo them.
Signs, however, are basically just low-level spells that any magic-user can do inThe Witcheruniverse.
That’s why it can be puzzling why Ciri can’t use them.

6HOW CAN DIMETIRIUM SUPPRESS MAGIC?
Apparently, it only works within a certain vicinity of the magic-user, suppressing their magical capabilities.
All we know is that it’s a special metal.

It’s no secret that magic-users communicate differently compared to the rest of the world inThe Witcheruniverse.
Even Keira Metz was able to invent some sort of a walkie-talkie for Geralt.
4WHY NEED WITCHERS AT ALL WHEN YOU HAVE MAGES?
The problem is, there isn’t anything a witcher can do that magic-users can’t.
One wizard in the books, Vilgefortz was even a more accomplished fighter than Geralt.
Besides, sorceresses, wizards, and druids can and have proven that they can easily deal with monsters.
Meanwhile, guards need only coat their weapons in silver to deal with the local pesky drowner or ghoul.
3WHY DIDN’T YENNEFER SEEK OUT GERALT USING MAGIC PRIOR TO WITCHER 3?
Yennefer and Geralt have been trying to reunite ever since the events of the finalWitcherbook.

It turns out she was the only key to stopping the White Frost.
Was Ciri able to teleport the entirety of the White Frost somewhere?

Geralt could have easily become a despot with Axii if he wanted.
Then again, we wouldn’t have been able to experience some masterful storytelling if we abused magic.
