The trick to winning this combat is using the arena to your advantage.

The Rogue Prince of Persia holds up his time travelling bola.

The easiest route to reach this location isthrough the village outskirts and aqueduct levels.

The access to the Public Baths does require accumulating some other progress milestones.

It appears to become availableafter you’ve defeated Berude for the first time.

Anahita upgrades are a good choice for the encounter.

You’ll almost always have a full set of potions going into the fight, maximising your survivability.

Anahita’s blessing reduces damage taken while in water.

The Rogue Prince of Persia prepares to fight General Altan in the Public Baths.

While normally unreliable, in this encounter it’ll functionally be always active.

His entry in Nyamtur’s tome notes that he is fearful of people “stealing his body-healing fluids.”

For tools, you want access toranged attacks or mobility options.

Altan does this basic attack onlyif the Prince stays in close rangefor a long time.

Avoid doing more than one or two melee combosat a time to him between his other attacks.

Boulder Drop

Altan raises both arms and his front tentacle before swinging them down hard.

A series of boulders fall from the ceiling.

These can be kicked back at Altan.

Vertical Wave

Altan raises his arm and front tentacle up and then swings them in a circling motion.

General Altan drops a series of boulders while the Rogue Prince of Persia kicks one back to stun him.

A tall wave projectile crosses the arena.

The wave is too high to evade jumping from the ground.

This becomes more effective in the later fight when he repeats the attack often.

The Rogue Prince of Persia retreats to a safe distance as General Altan enters his final phase.

Reposition

Altan raises his shoulder and charges forward.

Altan will bend over and channel whirling currents of water around himself as his tentacles thrash wildly.

Tendrils of corrupted water will spear out, targeting the Prince with a half-second delay.

The rogue prince of persia dodges along the ceiling as general Altan channels his ultimate attack.

This repeats five to eight times.

The best way to avoid them is to be continuously moving.

At this stage, it strikes five times in a row.

General Altan flings a series of tall wave projectiles at the Rogue Prince of Persia.

The water lances will strike eight times now.
