A lot of people first discoverDungeons & Dragonsthrough the likes ofCritical RoleandDimension20.
But they also cause an issue with expectations.
Even for official modules, someone needs to be aware of the bones being excavated.

You Don’t Need To Match Mercer And Mulligan
I am not a voice actor.
In fact, Im not a performer of any kind.
Writing is a very private affair.
If I had to consider how to act out each character, Id never write anything.
I imagine this is different to how Mercer and Mulligan write their characters.
But sooner or later, you have to embrace that part of being a DM is being an actor.
Itmakes each character more memorable, even if most of the voices arent particularly distinct from one another.
Even if you cant really do them, its always worth trying a voice in D&D.
