Everyone loves a good New Game Plus, but Silent Hill 2 handles it a bit differently than others.
This was especially true of Silent Hill 2 and the multiple endings you could achieve on your first run.
All of these return inSilent Hill 2 Remake, along some new additions by Bloober Team.
Here’s how to get them all.
Endings in Silent Hill 2 aretracked across your whole accountrather than a single save file.
How Many Endings Are There?
Some slight alterations have been introduced though, so try not to rely on the original game’s methods.
Two new endings have also beenaddedby Bloober Team in this remake.
As such, only one of these endings can be achieved per playthrough.
Many of these items allow you tounlock new endings.
While one of them is a more serious ending, the other two are on the comedic side.
Which might be obvious when you see the names.
They can also only be seen in a New Game Plus file.
Here are some methods to help push you towards this ending over the other two.
This is alikely first ending if you are playing the game thoroughly on Normal or higher combat difficulty.
Acquiring this ending requirecollecting four Key Items throughout the game.
All four are needed for the ending to trigger and have no effect otherwise.
It is left resting on a grave in the north by the shore.
It is on the wall opposite of the giant painting of Pyramid Head in the main hall.
In your first playthrough, a painting of the Obsidian Goblet will have been handing here.
It has now been removed to reveal the Obsidian Goblet itself.
The cutscene before the fight begins is also unique, so double-check not to skip it.
But who cares,you get to see a dog.
To achieve the dog ending, it’s pretty simple.
Here’s where to find each of the key pieces.
The first part of the key can befound in a pet shop directly beside Big Jay’sin Eastern South Vale.
In the base game, this building is locked, with the door wide open in New Game Plus.
In fact,the majority of Silent Hill games have a UFO ending, including the original.
Silent Hill 2 was just continuing the tradition.
double-check towear headphones as a funky noise playswhen you’re near areas related to unlocking the ending.
The first step isfinding the Blue Gem, necessary to progress with the ending.
Just break the window here to find it resting in a jewelry box.
Once on the roof, your controller should start vibrating and a sound most extraterrestrial will play briefly.
As long as it glows, this area is complete.
The second location to scan isthe Rosewater Park.
The third location that the Blue Gem must be scanned is atthe Lakeview Hotel.
Whip out the Blue Gem to scan it once more.
Just one last scanning to go.
The final location that the Blue Gem must be scanned isin James' hotel room, room 312.
As soon as you enter the room, the controller will start vibrating and that familiar noise play.
You’re in for an ending most alien.
This has been changed in the remake to featurethe PS2 version of Jamesinstead.
Here are the key steps.
In the base game, there will have been a dead body with a note here.
Input the code,1887, to find aRusted Key and Cryptic Noteinside.
This note hints at the next location to go to, a place of care.
InBrookhaven, there is a small gazebo located in the garden in the north of the hospital.
Climb into this Gazebo (and beware the Mannequin enemy) to find asmall locked chest.
Use the Rusted Key you got from Pete’s Bowl-O-Rama to open it, revealing theWhite Claudiainside.
James and Mary’s special place.
In the Lakeview Hotel,make your way to James' room with the videotape, room 312.
Here, you are meant to watch the videotape as normal.
However, check that todrink the White Claudia first.
During the videotape, the recording will change with James suddenly appearing in frame.
The item used to induce this ending, White Claudia.
is a reference toa hallucinogenic plant mentioned in the wider Silent Hill lore.
Like the Bliss ending, it can only be achieved in a New Game Plus file.
Here’s how to get it.
In a New Game Plus file, James can pick upa brand new weapon, the Chainsaw.
This is required to get the Stillness ending.
After picking it up, proceed until you’ve unlocked the gate past the Auto Parts shop.
This requires using the Key of Sorrow, and then inputting a code.
But what is this code?
The number you gotta input is314, in the direction left, right, left.
Another number,four, is written on the side of this notebook.
After opening the safe, you will receivethe Toluca Postcard.
With this in hand, you’re able to complete the game as normal.
This ending plays out much like the In Water ending, reaching the same ultimate conclusion.
With that, you will have achievedevery ending that Silent Hill 2 Remake has to offer.
There are a myriad of trophies associated with these endings as well, the new endings excluded.
Now James suffering can finally end.
