So much sothat Shadows is now the owner of the highest peak concurrent player count on Steam.

Things like outlines while in stealth, or trails in the sky when firing an arrow can break immersion.

That’s why one gamer took it upon themselves to remove all “silly effects” via a newPCmod.

Since its launch two days ago, the mod already has over 1,000 downloads.

It’s only bested byHDR fixesand a separate mod thatremoves the intro screen entirely.

Naturally, the realism it aims to bring has been a hit with those who’ve downloaded it.

“I am willing to actually buy armour sets now.”

Of course, Assassin’s Creed is probably the last franchise anyone should be looking towards for realism.

But it is clear that there is an appetite for fewer visual gimmicks.
