“Lost Histories” is a great example of this.
This quest picks up after “Misdirection,” S’krivva’s previous assignment.
You must also fence at least 400 gold for the guild before S’krivva will offer this assignment.
Once both conditions are met, speak with her to start the quest.
S’krivva doesn’t care whether he returns, so long as she gets the book.
Slop-Drudge
This is the easiest and most straightforward option.
He’ll give you unrestricted access to the prisoner cells, no persuasion needed.
Let the guard know you’re there to feed the prisoners, then head inside to find Theranis.
Illusion spells work great here; bribery doesnotwork on the guards.
Interact with it to reveal a hidden tunnel that leads to the prison.
Steal an item in a guard’s presence or pickpocket them to get flagged as wanted.
When they confront you, select jail time as your way of paying for your bounty.
Learn how to capture Selene and earn a small sum of gold through this short quest guide.
This woman took Theranis and an Argonian.
This will reveal a hidden tunnel that leads to the winery.
Once you’re in the winery, follow the splotches of blood on the floor.
They will lead you to a shelf of wine bottles next to another unlit candle.
Pull on this one to reveal a hidden torture cell.
Inside is the Pale Lady interrogator, the Argonian prisoner, and Theranis' corpse.
Avenge your fellow thief before proceeding.
Potential Vampirism
The Pale Lady is a vampire and can spread Porphyric Hemophilia, Oblivion’s term for vampirism.
Those wishing to avoid vampirism should be particularly cautious here.
Doing so it easy enough.
Book it outside of the castle and speak to Amusei again.
Even if the guards catch you and send you to jail, they won’t detain Amusei.
Get out of the castle and speak with the Argonian again to get Theranis' final message.
With the book in hand, return to S’krivva and let her know what happened to Theranis.
She’ll express remorse briefly before rewarding you with 400 gold.
This complete “Lost Histories” and comes with a promotion to Cat Burglar within the organization.
