There are dozens of characters, each with a plethora of their own unique mechanics.

If you’re playing your character in the wrong position, nothing else you do is going to matter.
But most importantly,Vanguards should draw as much attention as they possibly can.
This means they need to be front and center, positioning-wise.
But, that looks very different for different Vanguards.
There aretwo varieties of Vanguardcharacters; those centered aroundharassing and damage, and those centeredaround defense.
can be seen generally as harassers.
These Vanguardsshould not be holding a front linefor their team very often.
How To Position A Defensive Vanguard
Defensive Vanguards are played differently.
Characters likeGroot, Doctor Strange, Magneto, etc.form the frontline of the fight.
Their defensive abilities allow them toeither absorb or offset a tremendous amount of damage.
These Vanguards will often need a Strategist on-call to heal them constantly.
But there are acouple of inconsistencies across different Strategist characters.
Rocket, for instance, should bepositioned somewhere he can fire his healing spheres through multiple allies at once.
This is less about which character always needs to be positioned where and each match requires.
Characters likeCloak and DaggerandLokican excel at this bang out of role.
How To Position A Harassing Duelist
Harassing Duelistsinclude characters likeSpider-ManandIron Fist.
These characters work best when theytake an enemy by surprise, most often with a flank.
These Duelists need to know when to jump in and when to jump out.
This includes characters likeMagicandBlack Panther.
Still, it’s better to do this as a surprise, so not from the front.
Mid-range Duelistsinclude characters likeMoon Knight,Winter Soldier, Namor, and more.
Oftentimes, it’s best for these characters toplay from a high groundwhen possible.
This is especially true for Moon Knight, who has movement abilities that help him achieve this with ease.
Thisgives them better sightlines, andremoves them from AoE attacks aimed at friendly Strategists.
It also allows them tocombat flanks more effectively, helping counter Iron Fist and Spider-Man.
How To Position A Sniper Duelist
Sniper DuelistsincludeBlack WidowandHawkeye.
This can give them easy eliminations on enemies that don’t know they’re there.
Snipers do have to be careful not to wear out their welcome from an advantageous sightline.
This includesIron ManandStorm, though they both have different positioning strengths.
In the latter, he can focus fire enemy Strategists quicker than they can react to it.
Keeping a continuous strafing movement going as Iron Manis going to improve your survivability tenfold.
With Storm, her abilitieswork best when near other characters.
It’s going to be veryhelpful as Storm to have a strong defensive Vanguardon the team.
Otherwise, she’s going to become a prime target and easily dispatched.
