The Twelve are aligned in pairs,each assigned to one of the six elements and 12 moons.
Like all good mythological pantheons, many of the Twelve arerelated by blood or bond.
Originally, the Twelve were created toensure the survival and stability of man.
Knowing this, the Twelve created an epitaph in the phantom realm of Omphalos torecord their original aims.
Before they could return to the Lifestream, the Twelve needed todilute their powerful stores of Aether.
Who Is Deryk?
As Deryk, he essentiallylures the Warrior of Light into Omphalosso that the Twelve may complete their plan.
In this form, Deryk would live out the rest of his life as a mortal.
Are The Twelve Primals?
However, despite sharing many similarities with the Primals of Etheirys,the Twelve are not Primals.
The Twelve werecreated by Hydaelyn, not summoned by Eorzeans, meaningthey have their own free will.
Are The Twelve Related To The Convocation Of The Fourteen?
One popular theory surrounding the Twelve is their relation to theConvocation of the Fourteen.
The Convocation was thegoverning body of Ancient Etheirys, whose main base of operation was the city of Amaurot.
Is Azem Related To Azeyma?
While this connection is pretty convincing,the two aren’t actually directly related.
However, before this Ancient could take the seat of Azem, the Sundering occurred.
This Ancient wasreincarnated into the goddess Azeyma, which is why the two share many qualities.
Who Is The Thirteenth God?
He recognized the similarities between the description of the Thirteenth god and theunnamed Watcher on Mare Lamentorum.
He confirmed thathe was also created by Hydaelynalong with the Twelveto watch over and protect mankind.
