It is in the third season that the Borg, TNGs nemeses, are brought into the series.
Its a terrific season finale.
To be sure, there are still someveryrough outings.
But the ratio of good episodes is on the upswing now.
The Futures End two-parter is hair-down-Voyager at its finest.
Macrocosm is the reverse Rise - the action works in the shows favor here by contrast.
Distant Origin is a strong sci-fi premise with an intriguing, if silly, twist.
Set a course for every almost-captain major character in the series.
Sure, there are losers here as well.
Unimatrix, Part 2 picks up from season sixs messy finale with an equally messy premiere.
At least the current crop of shows have been picking up where Endgame left off for several characters.
It misses a step here and there, but its pretty close to tying season four for supremacy.
Timeless, the shows landmark 100th episode, doesnt waste the opportunity to soar.
Infinite Regress showcases Jeri Ryans incredible acting talents with yet another winner for Seven.

Dark Frontier is a gripping two-hour event for the Borg plot.
Sure, its sort of adrenaline for adrenalines sake, but we dont mind.
Someone to Watch Over Me is this writers single favourite episode of Star Trek: Voyager.
Relativity is one of this writers favourite time travel Star Trek episodes.
Nice stuff, both!
And uh, yes, Extreme Risk has a mystifyingly negative message at the end of the episode.
But its Star Trek.
Whats more, its Star Trek: Voyager.
They cant all be top-shelf fare.
In this timeframe, Voyager goes from a recommendation with scattered asterisks to a full-steam-ahead spectacular show.
Even if such profound overall quality wasnt destined to last, season four is immensely rewatchable stuff.
We kind of hope it isnt, but at least itd be a follow-up to a masterpiece.
You get the picture.
In our view, this is peak Star Trek.
