Notable as well is howwe are never told how Torrent passed toMelina, whether by choice or by chance.
Yet Melina and Ranni, the only two characters who directly reference Torrent,share striking similarities in appearance.
It’s nothing conclusive, but a possible reason the two are connected through Torrent.
When Melina grants to you the Spectral Steed Whistle, it is not of her own accord.
She claims thatTorrent chose you, and you specificallyfrom a sea of others.
Witnessing this, she offers a sorrowful farewell to Torrent,who stands by your side no matter what.
It would seemTorrent would follow the Tarnished even into death, viewing their choice as being the best.
As such, it impliesTorrent truly has goals of their ownor is simply deeply confident in yours.
As such, they are either locked beneath Leyndell or havetheir horns sheared off to hide their existence.
Anything else is like building a puzzle with missing pieces.
