Is Sapphire’s reign over?
Has the door been opened for Discard?
With Set Championships quickly approaching, there isnt a lot of time for this new meta to settle.
Lets run down the current state of the meta, post-bans.
It remains to be seen.
On the other hand, Sapphire/Steel is back on the struggle bus post-ban.
As I said last week, Amethyst/Sapphire gets a stealth buff from the Hiram ban.
The New And The Old-New
As expected, Emerald/Steel Discard is seeing a lot of success.
Fortunately, it doesnt seem nearly as oppressive as some feared it would be.
Its a powerful deck that can effectively win some games by turn three with the right curve.
At the start of every set, Amethyst/Ruby is pronounced dead.
At the end of every set, Amethyst/Ruby finds its way back on top.
Its no surprise to see it dominating.
These decks dont represent the entire meta.
In fact, the fourth-best category, according toInkborn Heroes meta breakdown, is Other.
That tells us people are still experimenting and discovering new strategies.
