No class inDestiny 2plays quite like a Warlock.
Their unique movement options and Aspects allow for a degree of mobility and aggression that no class can match.
Here is every Warlock subclass ranked from worst to best in Destiny 2.
The Aspects and Fragments system is now part of all subclasses, not just Stasis.
We’ve updated this article to showcase the pros and cons of every Warlock subclass.
Playstyles, PvE and PvP performance, and Aspects are all covered in each subclass entry.
Stormcaller Aspects
Electrostatic Mindgenerates Ionic Traces upon defeating Arc-debuffed targets.
Arc Soulinfuses your Rifts with Arc energy, granting a temporary Arc turret when you walk through them.
Besides its one-tap potential, this Aspect is mediocre at best.
Only use this in a PvP build.
3Voidwalker (Void)
Voidwalkers use powerful grenades and debuff tools to assist their team.
All Voidwalkers have access to Devour, arguably the strongest keyword for Void 3.0 in PvE.
Chaos Accelerant is great for Void Grenade users, while other grenades tend to be used by Devour setups.
Voidwalker Aspects
Child of the Old Godsgives Warlocks apocket tetherthey create upon casting a Rift.
Damaging a target will launch the orb to the target, tethering them for a short time.
Enemies tethered are weakened and grant either HP or ability energy.
This ability is absurdly strong in all content.
Nearly every build can benefit from this Aspect.
Feed the Voidgrants Devour upon landing a Void ability kill.
It’s a solid albeit boring pick.
Overcharged grenades become available to the Voidwalker, allowing you to enhance your grenades with a short wind-up animation.
Vortex Grenades get the most out of this, increasing their damage, size, and duration.
Only certain endgame PvE builds will use this Aspect.
Crucible players looking for a highly mobile Warlock subclass won’t find better.
Dawnblade Aspects
Icarus Dashis the strongest PvP Aspect a Dawnblade has access to.
If Heat Rises is active, your dodge uses are doubled.
That’s nothing short of S-tier for aggressive players.
It’s not the best PvE Aspect out of your available options but far from bad.
Touch of Flamebuffs your Solar grenades in various ways.
Healing Grenades grant stronger Cure and Restoration buffs, making you the ultimate healer.
Fusion Grenades detonate twice, guaranteeing an Ignite with Ember of Ashes equipped.
This makes Starfire Protocol absurdly strong for endgame PvE content.
Solar Grenades also spew out magma blobs to enhance the damage output of Sunbracers.
If you like using grenades at all, Touch of Flame should be in your build.
Heat Riseslets your take the fight to the sky.
Most of their strength comes from the Bleak Watcher Aspect and Osmiomancy Gloves Exotic.
Bleak Watcher allows Shadebinders to create ice turrets that slow everything in sight.
For PvP, Bleak Watcher can be useful for defending objectives or applying pressure to certain lanes.
For both PvE and PvP, Iceflare Bolts can be absurdly powerful and set up some devastating shatter combos.
Frostpulseis mostly a PvP Aspect, freezing anything nearby upon casting your Rift.
That alone sounds underwhelming, but this turns your Rift into a powerful Shotgun counter.
See an enemy around the corner?
Cast your Rift to freeze them, leading to an easy kill.
Don’t bother using this Aspect in PvE unless you’re using Vesper of Radius.
Even then, don’t expect the damage from Vesper of Radius to scale beyond matchmade content.
Glacial Harvestis the worst Stasis Shard Aspect of the bunch.
Freezing a target creates multiple Stasis Shards, generating up to six before it starts a ten-second cooldown.
