How Romance Works
There are no gender or race restrictions for romance in Baldur’s Gate 3.
You cannot romance or sleep with just anyone.
There are a select few romanceable characters within the game that you will need to work towards wooing.
after you snag met a character you are interested in,you will have to gain their trust.
That is why having skills likeInsightmay come in handy.
To really progress with a romanceable companion, you will have to make choices they would make.
Other characters may disapprove of those actions.
You cannot romance a character unless you have high approval from them.
How To Gain Companion Approval
Different characters have varying personalities.
There are choices big and small within Baldur’s Gate 3 that will impact the world around you.
When you make a decision during dialogue, the companions with you may approve or disapprove.
The game will state this at the top left of your screen, like in the photo above.
Gaining approval is not as simple as doing the ‘right’ thing.
The absolutebest way to make a companion like you is by focusing on their personal quests.
Siding with them and how they feel throughout the quest will make them approve more.
This will increase Astarion’s approval of you.
Doing so will result in disapproval.
How To Get Romance Scenes
You may end up increasing a character’s approval without realizing it.
Romance happens at camp.
They usually have opinions to share, and indulging in them will give you the chance for approval ratings.
Can You Romance Multiple Characters?
The age-old question in any RPG is, can you romance multiple characters?
In Baldur’s Gate 3, it is possible.
Developers have stated that, in certain cases, you are able to indulge in multiple romances.

Romance options range in gender, race, personality, and class.
There is enough variety for everyone to want to replay the game andromance a new person each time.

At the very bottom of each character’s statistics will be anApproval Bar with an icon of your player.
The more near green, the higher your approval with that person.
