AI Limitintroduces you to a gorgeous post-apocalyptic world that functions on core Soulslike mechanics.
Soulslike games are brutal.
Grab a friend to share in the suffering.
Newcomers to the genre may have a tough time dealing with its punishing nature.
The more damage you do, the more this builds up.
The higher your Sync Rate bar, the more additional damage you do.
Weapon Skills are awesome combat maneuvers, but use up your Sync Rate bar.
So, use these only when necessary.
From your inventory, equip these before heading into a fight.
you might use healing items, throwables (like a Mini Bomb), and so on.
Many enemies struggle against throwable items.
Then, build your Technique and Skill based on the playstyle you wish to achieve.
take a stab at equip powerful gear as soon as you’re free to.
you’re free to find the Blade Armor and Blade Visor pretty early on in the game.
Build Your Combat Rhythm
Every Soulslike functions on unique weapon movesets.
To get a hang of this early on,build a rhythmic moveset for yourself.
First, determine which throw in of weapon you’re most comfortable with.
If Dual Blades are more your thing, then rapid succession of attacks are more your thing.
Next, think of a combo that’s unique to you.
Here’s an example: light attack, light attack, dodge, parry.
Or, light attack, heavy attack, dodge, spell-casting.
Based on which moves feel most comfortable to you, build a rhythm and stick to it.
This will improve your encounters.
For short-term uses,Mud Balls are the way to go.
They’re easier to find and often reliable.
However, they slowly fill up your health and aren’t the best during fast-paced boss fights.
Arrisa’s Life Dews are way more reliablesince they can improve her health almost immediately.
However, they’re also rare and one-time use items until you rest at a Branch.
While Mud Balls are easy to find, give a shot to rely more on your fighting skills.
This way, you’ll improve your combat techniques and treat consumables as a more valuable resource.
This stays true for AI Limit, andbackstabbing can almost finish off enemies in one go.
You don’t even have to always sneak up to them for this!
On the other hand, parrying attacks can feel much more difficult.
Arrisa’s Counter Field ability is a flawless way of parrying attacks and can be extremely rewarding.
Practice your attacks and parries, and fill up your Sync Rate here.
When you’re here, check that youexplore every corner of the area to unlock shortcuts.
Even if there’s not a Branch nearby, unlocking shortcuts can make it easier to navigate the world.
Additionally, Branches let you teleport between one another.
The idea is togo back to places you’ve been to before, but once you’re stronger.
Don’t let this limit your journey!
Once you start discovering new weapons, feel free to explore their movesets and experimentwith your playstyle.
If you’ve been a Greatsword user, then try switching to Dual Blades.
Halberts and Lances are great too.
Furthermore, there’s always a new learning curve based on the weapon you pick.
For instance, there’s a set ofDual Blades you’ll find early in the game called Bonecrackers.
During the early hours of the game, don’t commit to enhancing a single weapon.
Experiment with a few first, and then decide which one deserves your resources and attention.
