English is best known for playing Shadowheart in Larian’s mega-hit Baldur’s Gate 3.
Starr, meanwhile, played the protagonist of Final Fantasy 16, Clive Rosfield.
However, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is set to be the actor’s next major role after Rosfield.
Unlike English, Starr’s character is not a party member.
Instead, the mysterious Verso is a “morally ambiguous” stranger with unknown motives.
“I want to build a character who was iconic from the ground up,” Starr said.
“And we literally get to do that here.
We get to create characters.
And that comes along very, very rarely.”
“[The writing was] so brilliant that we can kind of just bring ourselves to it.
And yeah, these kinds of games don’t come around very often,” English explained.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 releases on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC on April 24.
